Step 1 — Place Your Bet Each round begins with placing your bet. Choose your wager amount before the cards are dealt. Step 2 — Receive Your Cards You and the dealer are each dealt two cards. Both of your cards are face-up, while the dealer has one card face-up (the "upcard") and one card face-down (the "hole card"). Step 3 — Understand Card Values Number cards (2-10) — worth their face value Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) — worth 10 points each Ace — worth either 1 or 11 points, whichever benefits your hand most Step 4 — Make Your Move Your goal is to get as close to 21 as possible without exceeding it (busting). You win if: Your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's without busting The dealer busts (goes over 21) while you don't Step 6 — Win the Round If you beat the dealer, you win your bet.
