Puzzle Wood Block is a free online block puzzle game that blends the satisfying logic of Sudoku with the addictive placement challenge of classic block games. You're given a set of wooden block shapes and a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 sections — your job is to fit every piece strategically so that complete rows, columns, or 3x3 squares clear from the board and keep the space open for the next set of blocks. The game is built around one deeply satisfying mechanic: the combo. Clearing multiple lines or squares in a single move multiplies your score and separates good players from great ones. Every placement decision matters — a block dropped in the wrong spot can block future moves and cut your run short, while a perfectly planned sequence can chain clears together for massive points. There's no time pressure and no levels to beat — just you, the grid, and the drive to push your high score further with every game. Simple enough to pick up in seconds, deep enough to keep you coming back. Play Puzzle Wood Block free in your browser on desktop or mobile, right here on VPlay — no download needed.
How to Play
Step 1 — Understand the Grid The playing field is a 9x9 board divided into nine 3x3 subgrid sections — similar to a Sudoku layout. Your goal is to keep filling the board without running out of space to place new blocks. Step 2 — Know Your Blocks At the start of each turn, you receive three wooden block pieces of various polyomino shapes — L-shapes, straight lines, squares, corners, and more. You must place all three before the next set appears. Step 3 — Drag and Place Blocks Click and drag a block from the panel and drop it onto the grid in a position where it fits. Blocks cannot be rotated — plan your placement based on the shape as given. Step 4 — Clear Lines and Squares to Score A line or section clears automatically when completely filled: Fill a full horizontal row of 9 squares → row clears and earns points Fill a full vertical column of 9 squares → column clears and earns points Fill a complete 3x3 subgrid → that section clears and earns points Step 5 — Chain Combos for Maximum Points Clearing multiple rows, columns, or 3x3 squares in a single block placement triggers a combo — and combos multiply your score dramatically. The more lines and squares you clear at once, the higher your score climbs. Step 6 — Survive as Long as Possible The game ends the moment none of your three available blocks can fit anywhere on the board. There are no second chances — every placement counts from the very first move.
