"Step 1 — Understand the Goal Your objective is to clear the board by arranging cards in descending order from King to Ace within the same suit. Each complete sequence of 13 cards (King through Ace) of the same suit is automatically removed from the table. Step 2 — Set Up the Board The game begins with 10 tableau columns. The first 4 columns contain 6 cards each (5 face-down, 1 face-up), and the remaining 6 columns contain 5 cards each (4 face-down, 1 face-up). The stock pile sits at the bottom right, containing the remaining 50 cards. Step 3 — Build Descending Sequences You can move cards from one column to another if they are in descending order (King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, etc.) and of the same suit. For example, you can place a red 9 on a red 10, but not on a black 10. You can move any face-up card, along with all cards below it in the same column. Step 4 — Uncover Hidden Cards When you move a face-up card from a column, the card underneath it is revealed. Your goal is to uncover as many face-down cards as possible to create more movement options and build longer sequences. Step 5 — Use the Stock Pile When you can't make any more moves on the tableau, click the stock pile to deal one card to each of the 10 columns. Use this strategically — dealing too early can clutter the board and make it harder to build sequences. Step 6 — Clear the Board Each complete sequence of King through Ace of the same suit is removed from the table, earning you points and bringing you closer to victory. Your ultimate goal is to remove all 8 sequences (in the 4-suit version) and clear the entire board. Step 7 — Choose Your Difficulty Spider Solitaire offers multiple difficulty levels: 1 Suit (Easy) — All cards are the same suit, making it easier to build sequences 2 Suits (Medium) — Two suits are used, adding strategic complexity 4 Suits (Expert) — All four suits are used, offering the ultimate challenge for seasoned players Controls Desktop: Click with your mouse to select and drag cards to their destination Mobile/Tablet: Tap and drag on the screen to move cards Tips to Become a Spider Solitaire Master Build same-suit sequences first — focus on creating complete suit sequences rather than mixing suits, as only same-suit sequences can be removed Uncover hidden cards early — prioritize moves that reveal face-down cards to increase your options Empty columns are valuable — an empty column can hold any card, giving you a place to temporarily store cards and reorganize your sequences Use the stock pile sparingly — only deal new cards when you've exhausted all possible moves. Dealing too early can trap you Plan your moves ahead — think two or three steps ahead to avoid blocking yourself Don't mix suits unnecessarily — while you can move mixed-suit sequences, it's often better to keep suits separate for easier removal Stay patient and persistent — Spider Solitaire requires strategic thinking and patience.
